Each number tells you how many squares in a row to fill in that line, in order. A clue of 2 2 means: fill 2 squares, leave at least one blank, then fill 2 more.

How to Solve This Nonogram

Nonograms (also called picross, griddlers, or hanjie) are logic puzzles that hide a picture inside a grid of numbers:

Fix the two tall columns first. Columns 4 and 14 each read a solid 13 — two long vertical runs that form the left and right edges. Drop them straight down as your frame.
Build the peak up top. The upper rows climb 1, then 3, then repeating 2 2 pairs — a triangle rising to a point. Start at the apex and widen as you work down.
Save the clustered middle rows for last. Rows like 1 3 5 and 1 4 1 break into small separate blocks — little details that fall into place once the tall edges and the peak are set.

Walkthrough: Your First Four Moves

Not sure where to begin? Here's exactly how Mr. Puzzle opens this grid. Rows are numbered top to bottom and columns left to right.

Clear the edges. Rows 1 and 2 have no clue, and neither do columns 1, 2, 18, 19 and 20. The working area is columns 3 to 17 (15 wide) and rows 3 to 20 (18 tall).
Columns 5 and 15 (13). In 18 rows, that's 5 squares of wiggle room, so rows 8 through 15 are filled in both.
Row 14 (1 1). Columns 5 and 15 are already filled in row 14. Those are the two 1s, so the rest of the row is blank.
Column 7 (2 3 6). Row 14 is now blank in this column, and the 6 has to come after it. Rows 15 to 20 are exactly 6 squares, so fill them all.

Rows 5 to 9 all read 2 2, with each pair sitting one square further apart than the row above. Work upward from row 9, where columns 5 and 15 already give you one square of each pair.

Why It's Rated Medium

There are lots of small runs and single squares inside the outline (rows 10 to 20), and each one needs checking against its column. No guessing, but more cross-checking than an Easy grid.

Where Your Heart Is is a house the way a kid would draw it — a big triangular roof, two tall walls, a pair of windows that don’t quite match, and a front door with a doorknob. That wonky, hand-drawn charm is the whole point; it’s not meant to be an architect’s blueprint. As a Medium 20×20, the clean roofline and solid 13-tall edges give you a sturdy frame, and the mismatched details reward a bit of patient work.
