🔠 Our first secret message word search. Find all 26 harvest words, and every letter you didn’t use spells a hidden phrase. Play it right here on screen, or print it — the answer key sits in a small strip at the bottom, so fold it backward along the dotted line before you start.
⏱ Target time: under 12 minutes. The three nine-letter words — SCARECROW, CRANBERRY and CORNSTALK — are the easiest to spot. Start there.

The 14 letters still showing in red weren’t used by any word. Read them left to right, starting at the top row, and type the phrase they spell.
This one works in two stages. First you find every word on the list, just like any word search. Then the grid gives you a bonus: once every word is found, the letters nobody used are the secret, already in order.
Stuck on the last word or two? Look for letters that still aren’t crossed out and check whether any of them could start a word on the list. If a letter can’t belong to any remaining word, it’s probably part of the secret.
Harvest Time hides 26 fall harvest words in a 12×12 grid, from the farm field (TRACTOR, HAYRIDE, SCARECROW) to the kitchen table (CIDER, PIE, CRANBERRY). Nine words run down, six run across and eleven run diagonally. Every square of the grid belongs to a word except fourteen — and those fourteen spell the secret.
It’s the first of a new kind of word search on The Puzzle Solver, built so the leftover letters do something. We checked the grid by computer: every word appears exactly once, nothing runs backwards, and the fourteen leftover letters are spread across eleven different rows, so the secret doesn’t give itself away before you’ve earned it. If you like a harder version of the same idea, our Secret Agent word search scrambles its leftover letters, so you have to unscramble them too.
