Easy Sudoku #1 starts you off with 43 given numbers — a strong head start that keeps most of the grid solvable through simple scanning alone. The digit 3 appears just once among the starting numbers, so placing the rest of the 3s is usually one of the last things you'll nail down.
Look at row 3, column 2 (the left-hand box). Row 3 already holds 2, 5, 6 and 7, and column 2 adds 1, 3, 4 and 9. That's eight different digits ruling the cell out — only 8 is left, so pencil it in and you're off.
