How to Solve This Maze

Mazes reward patience more than speed — a steady method beats random wandering every time.

About This Puzzle

Haunted House Candy Heist is a Halloween maze with a story. The ghost has swiped the whole neighbourhood’s trick-or-treat candy and locked it in a little room at the very top of the tower. Starting from the trick-or-treater (🧒) on the front step, slip through the open front door and find the one route through the house to the candy stash (🍬). Along the way you’ll sneak past a black cat, the ghost itself, a bat in the attic, a pair of glowing red eyes in the dark tower window, and two jack-o’-lanterns — all solid walls the path has to wind around — while a witch flies across the full moon overhead.

There are no loops and only one true route, with plenty of dead ends ready to lead you into the wrong room. The correct path has a few surprises of its own: it takes a trip up the chimney, it heads straight for the tower and then doubles back when you least expect it, and the very first part of it spells out the ghost’s three-letter message. Trace your finished path from the door and see if you can read it, or fold back the answer strip to check. A fun one to print for Halloween parties and classrooms.
