How to Solve This Fill-In
A fill-in rewards process of elimination more than any other puzzle type. Work it like this:
Tackle the grid's tightest intersections first. Squares where several word-runs cross are the most constrained spots on the board — solving those early narrows everything connected to them.
Physically cross off placed words. With 11 entries in the bank, it's easy to lose track of what's left — strike each word the moment it's placed.
Leave the shortest words for last. Short entries in the 3-to-7 letter range fit the most open slots, so they're easiest to place once the longer words have already narrowed the grid down.

About This Puzzle
On the Farm starts you off with CHICKEN already filled in as the longest word, and asks you to place the other ten. Three of those are short three-letter entries (COW, HAY, PIG), while ROOSTER and TRACTOR match CHICKEN's seven-letter length at the opposite end of the scale.
