How to Solve This Word Search
Most solvers slow down near the end of a word search, not the start. A little strategy up front prevents that:
Read the whole list before you begin. Knowing all the words in advance lets your brain start pattern-matching letter combinations as you scan, instead of hunting one word completely before moving to the next.
Sweep diagonals on a second pass. Most people's eyes default to horizontal and vertical scanning first. Do one full diagonal-only pass across the grid after your first sweep to catch what you missed.
Use a straightedge for long words. For anything six letters or longer, lay a ruler or the edge of a piece of paper along candidate directions — it keeps your eye from drifting off-line partway through a word.
This grid holds 10 hidden words — if you're down to the last one or two, it's almost always diagonal. Full technique breakdown in our guide to winning at word games.
About This Puzzle
Planets runs through our solar system in a mix of sizes — tiny PLUTO and MOON sit next to giants like JUPITER and SATURN. All eight official planets are here, plus Pluto and the Moon, for ten words total — a nice companion to The Night Sky (puzzle No. 9) if you're after more space-themed solving.
